Keep It Local Project asked Ryan Freeman, President of C-Auto Glass four questions about what Keeping it Local means to him and his business.

How did you get started?

We’ve been in business for around 15 years in Cleveland. The owner, he started it himself - and we’ve grown with help to where we are now: around 40 full time, with around 2-3 hired each year. Our main hub is in Cleveland and we’re looking to expand and want to expand to Mentor.

What does being Local mean for your customers?  

There are other glass companies around but they buy their glass through middlemen. We buy direct which keeps prices down. We also have the ability to do something the same day because we have the glass here- I can get you in the same day. I have up front pricing and we don’t waiver from that 99% of the time. We have our own training center and our own shop with a trainer and we train to our standard and our protocol.

What do you like best about being Local?

I really enjoy the freedom to be able to implement ideas – there’s no red tape.

When you run your own business the sky’s the limit – you get of it what you put in to it. I can come in and immediately effect something. For example, I was looking into what we are doing about retail (at C-Auto Glass)- how we order, how we close sales - trying to change the mind-set from an order taker to a sales person. Also, especially when it comes to social media and marketing, revamping a website, advertising on Facebook to get the word out etc. You don’t often get the chance to do those things directly in a larger company, you have to go through channels, I can come in and immediately take action and create an impact.

What do you like best about being Local?

I love Cleveland! I love the Cleveland people, I love the city, I love being down here and promoting. It’s nice to hire in the community and watch them grow professionally and with the company. It’s where I grew up and where I live.
