10 Hacks for a Spotless Car

Have you ever noticed that it doesn’t matter if you drive 10 minutes down the road or take a long trip; your car always seems to get dirty? And if you even try to eat in the car or have kids with you, forget about it staying clean for more than a few minutes.
Doing a deep clean both inside and outside of the car can get exhausting and expensive. So we put a list together of car cleaning hacks that will be painless and less expensive.
Here are some of our favorite hacks to ensure your car it spotless:
- Do you have an old toothbrush lying around? Use it to clean off any dirt and debris that may be in hard to reach areas. This will be especially helpful around the main storage compartment, the buttons on the dashboard, and in between the seats.
- Do you have leather seats? Try cleaning with a dab of olive oil. This liquid can give your leather seats a real shine and help preserve the leather.
- Always wanting to get rid of your cloudy headlights? Squeeze some toothpaste right onto them! Let it soak in for a bit and then wash off with a hose.
- This is a two-for-one special. Do your pets take road trips with you? If that’s the case, you probably have a ton of unwanted dog hair all throughout your car. Take a dryer sheet and go over your seats. The dog hair will come right off. Another use for dryer sheets? Try wetting one and using it on the grille of your car. It will take off any bugs and dirt that may have gotten there from driving around.
- Are your wiper blades not really getting the job done? A quick fix is to rub a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto the rubber part of the blades. The rubbing alcohol will help them glide better and not smear.
- Are your windows all streaky? Take some old newspaper and replace your drying towel with it. Newspaper will actually give your windows a streak-free shine.
- Have even smaller nooks to clean that even a toothbrush can’t reach? Try using a cue tip. With its compact size and cotton edge, it can get those hard to clean areas shining like new.
- Do you have any bumper stickers that just won’t seem to come off? Instead of chipping away at it and possibly causing damage, spray some WD-40 onto it. After letting it sit for a bit, the sticker should peel right off.
- Need to dust your dashboard? Grab a coffee filter. Surprisingly, the texture in the coffee filter catches dust nicely, leaving nothing behind.
- Looking to get your car’s exterior extra shiny? Use hair conditioner. Yep. Just rub it into the car like you would soap and watch your car shine.
